Lucille Wombacker

Lucille Wombacker, 79, of Scranton, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Gouldsboro, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel (Bentler) Scott. Lucille graduated from Scranton Tech, and before retiring, worked for Liz Claiborne as a garment worker.

Lucille loved her family more than anything and loved getting everyone together. She was an amazing cook and liked to make sure everyone was well fed and taken care of. She was very active when she lived at Lutherwood, always finding ways to keep busy. Lucille was a kind, loving and giving person, she was the first to help anyone, anytime they needed it.

Lucille is survived by her sons, Donald and wife, Bernice, of Thornhurst; and Paul and wife, Kim, of Cape May, N.J.; her daughter-in-law, Wendy, of Florida; her siblings, Marjorie Boruta, Thomas Scott and Rachel Gress; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her son, William Wombacker; and her brother, Earl Scott.

The funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp., to be conducted by Pastor Eric Luczak. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park in Elmhurst Twp.

Viewing will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3 from 4 to 6 p.m., at the funeral home.
