Marian "Honey" Franceski, 87, of Forest City, died Thursday morning at Allied Services Hospice, Scranton.
Born Dec. 6, 1934, in Forest City, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Matilda Rudolph Franceski. She was a lifelong resident of Forest City and a graduate of Forest City High School.
Marian began her career with Prudential Insurance and later was employed by Emory Freight in their accounting department, where she spent more than 35 years. She retired at 70 to care for her mother.
Marian was adventuresome and loved to travel with her friends from work. Her exotic trips included visits to Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and various countries in Europe. Marian and her brother Bill also traveled to California to visit their uncle, William Rudolph. A side trip to Hawaii was enjoyed as well.
Marian will be missed by all her relatives and friends. A special thanks goes out to Jerry Franceski, Joe Franceski, Jim and Brian Fitzsimmons, Brian, Lora, and Max Urbas for their guidance, advice, care and love. Special friends who also deserve mentioning are Frances Beers, Barbara Bock, Jean Franceschini and cousin, Millie Struss. Thank you for all your kindness, support and fond memories.
Marian never married and lived to the fullest caring for her mother and brother. She was family-oriented, always taking pride in accomplishments of her relatives and her home town, Forest City. As further testament to her kindness and generosity her wishes include gifts to her church, the Historical Society, Fire Department and Ambulance Association. May she rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William C. "Bill" Franceski.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, Forest City. Friends may visit 9:30 until Mass time. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the Kevin M. Lesjack Funeral Home, 513 Main St., Forest City.
