Marianne Lynch Obituary

Marianne Cimino Lynch, 87, of Scranton, passed away peacefully Thursday morning at St. Mary's Villa surrounded by family. Marianne was called home by her son Tommy Lynch, who passed away 11 days prior.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Mary Famularo Cimino. She was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School and earned a bachelor's degree and master's degree in criminal justice from the University of Scranton. Prior to her retirement, she was a self-employed beautician and worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing in Scranton.

Marianne was the life of the party. She loved to dress up in her western outfits and go country line dancing. She was a true fashionista and loved to shop and accessorize. Marianne loved to play cards with her girlfriends and taught her grandchildren how to play 500 rummy. She was known for being fashionably late for everything, and had a passion for making crafts.

Marianne was a member of the Divine Mercy prayer group with her sister Rose, and she spent many Mondays attending St. Ann's Novena. She was a devote, Catholic and follower of Christ. She was always instilling faith, following angels, and sharing stories of God to her children and grandchildren.

Marianne was most proud and known for the love she had for her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She truly loved and cherished the time she spent with her family around the holidays and birthday celebrations, especially the celebrations that included many desserts to satisfy her sweet tooth.

Surviving are her daughters, Suzanne Lynch, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Lisa Allegrucci and her husband, Nunzi, of Scott Twp.; daughter-in-law, Angelena Lynch; sisters, Rose Mariani, of Eynon, and Geraldine Martelli, of Niagara Falls, N.Y.; grandchildren, Nunzi, Jonathan, Alishia, Andrea, Stephanie, Cory, Noah, Holly, Sarah, Lisa; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her former husband and best friend, Thomas "Clem" Lynch; sons, Johnny and Thomas Lynch; twin brothers, Peter and Frank Cimion; sister, Carol Ferro.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Church, 1510 Penn Ave., Scranton by Monsignor Neil J. Van Loon, pastor. Friends may call Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church. Interment, private and at the convenience of the family.
