Marlene Ann Laskowski, 83, of Wolcott, Conn., passed Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, Conn. She was the widow of Joseph E. Laskowski Sr., who passed away on June 11, 2009.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna Macarak Marinchak. Marlene was a graduate of West Scranton High School, a member of St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Terryville, Conn. and St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, Scranton. She was a devoted and very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by her children for her great sense of humor, her wonderful cooking and her strong devotion to God.
She is survived by three sons, Joseph Jr., Michael and Christopher; two daughters, Mary Ann and Cynthia; three grandchildren, John, Jeffrey and Judith; three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Leah and Delilah; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral of Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13, by the Rev. Fr. Myron Myronyuk, pastor, at St. Vladimir Ukrainian Catholic Church, 430 N. Seventh Ave., Scranton. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery, Minooka.
There are no public calling hours. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Edward J. Chomko Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 262 Railroad Ave., West Scranton, Pa. Donations may be made in Marlene's memory to St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Church.
