Born in Scranton, son of David R. and Minnie Farino Lewis, he graduated from Scranton High School. He attended East Stroudsburg University and worked in property management.

Matthew was a kind and generous person. He loved spending time outdoors hiking, golfing and skiing. He especially loved being at the beach digging for "wampum." Some of his favorite words to live by were, "It's only a weed if you call it one." Matthew was loved by many, and he loved with his whole heart, most especially the love of his life, Allison.

Also surviving are a sister, Kristen McCabe and husband, Christopher; nephew, Padraig McCabe; mother-in-law, Alicia Kuehner; father-in-law, Arthur Kuehner; brother-in-law, A.J. Kuehner and fiancée, Ally Flash; aunts, Kathy Snyder and Arlene Genovese; aunt and godmother, Cindy Farino; uncle, Domenick Farino; cousin, Anna Farino; and cousin and goddaughter, Leah Farino.

A celebration of Matthew's life will be Friday at the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton. Friends and family may pay their respects Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.

A memorial Mass will be private at the convenience of the family at Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William St., Scranton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Matthew Lewis Memorial Fund, in care of 132 Dimmick St., Throop, PA 18512.
