Nina Gatto Obituary

Nina J. Gatto of Scranton died Friday at home.

Born in Scranton, daughter of Katie Fallon Gatto, Nina graduated from Lackawanna Trail High School, class of 2012. She attended East Stroudsburg University and Fortis Institute, where she studied health care.

She enjoyed swimming competitively through high school and was previously employed as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Dunmore YMCA.

Nina had an outgoing and warm personality and was known to be a compassionate and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Also surviving are brother, Marty Gatto, New York City; feline friend, Tiger; and a large extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Robert J. and Marcella A. Fallon; and paternal grandparents, Nunzio and Susan Gatto.

Contributions may be made in Nina's memory to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Twp., PA 18411.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

I am so very sorry to hear I'd Nina's passing. She was part of our Y family for such a very long time both as a swim team member and then as a lifeguard & such a caring & talented swim instructor. She truly touched so many young children's lives.
