Pat Czyzyk, 64, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at home, after a strong and courageous two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband, Frank Czyzyk.
She was born Sept. 19, 1958, to Eve and the late Walter Bielavitz. She attended St. Mary's of Czestochowa Elementary and Bishop Klonowski High School. She later attended Keystone College and then graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
She was fortunate to have worked for RCA Corp., Cinram Mfg., Lockheed Martin and Cognizant Technology Solutions where she made and maintained many life-long friendships. Pat resided in Throop and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.
She and Frank enjoyed tropical beach vacations as often as possible and their annual military reunions throughout the United States. But what she cherished most was summers in the backyard pool with her grandsons, family, and friends. Pat was grateful for her Saturday nights out with friends. She was so appreciative of all the support, telephone calls, cards and well wishes from her family and friends throughout her fight with cancer. It's how she remained optimistic.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Eve Bielavitz, with whom she enjoyed shopping trips and long telephone conversations. Also surviving is a son, David Cheplick and his wife, Leah, along with their son, Jack, Dickson City. She was also fortunate to have a stepdaughter, Kristy McDonnell and husband, Terry, along with their sons, Evan and Nathan, Dunmore; as well as a stepson, Tim Czyzyk and wife, Tracy, along with their son, Ethan, Throop.
She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Bielavitz, and her first husband, David N. Cheplick.
Our family would like to express their gratitude to Sanjay Reddy, M.D. (Fox Chase Cancer Center), Kishori Veerabhadrappa, M.D. (Hematology & Oncology Assoc.) and Thomas Churilla, M.D. (NROC), and Allied Hospice.
