Paul Zilla, 90, of Throop, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore, after a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Mazzucca) Zilla. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in July.
Born in Throop, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Zilla. Prior to retirement, he was employed at Trane Company for 35 years. He worked many years for the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc. in Throop. He was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore.
Paul was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a kind and gentle man who had a great sense of humor and was liked by all who knew him. He enjoyed family trips to Ocean City, Maryland, attending his grandsons' sporting events, gardening and a good cheeseburger.
He is also survived by two daughters, Debra Baldauff and husband, Rick, Spring Brook Twp.; and Paula Smith and husband, Andy, Dunmore; three grandsons, Richard Baldauff, Cary, N.C.; Paul Baldauff, Dunmore; and Thomas Baldauff, Spring Brook Twp.; a sister, Verna Sojkowsky, Dunmore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Joseph and John (Ozzie) Zilla.
Viewing hours will be Thursday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 7 p.m. at John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 445 Sanderson St., Throop. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Feb. 18, at 11 a.m. at SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, 208 Smith St., Dunmore. Those attending the Mass are to go directly to the church. Masks are required for both viewing and church services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

I worked with Paul at the Trane Company until its closing. As a supervisor and a person he surely was an honest, fair and trusting man. Glad to have had the pleasure to know him.
