Pierrette Goulet Obituary
Born in Algeria, North Africa, she was a World War II bride and married Lester R. Goulet. Pierrette came to the United States in 1946. She became an American citizen about 10 years later. She made her home in Mount Holly, N.J., where she raised her family.
Her energy was boundless, and she always participated in various projects and activities. While living in Mount Holly, she was an active member in the French Club. She also reached out to those in need by opening the family home to foster children. Pierrette and Lester were foster parents in the New Jersey Foster Program for 12 years. Numerous children received loving care in their time of need. Later in life, Pierrette spent time doing volunteer work at the Marian Convent for the IHM Sisters. As she needed more assistance, she moved to Holy Family Residence where she greatly appreciated the care and concern of the staff and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
Pierrette was preceded in death by her husband, Lester R. Goulet; and her sister, Rosette Vanlente. She is survived by her daughters, Sister Rosemary Goulet, I.H.M.; and Jane Marrero; and her son, Bob Goulet. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two nieces.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Nov. 27, at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel of Holy Family Residence, 2500 Adams Ave., Scranton. Friends may call at Holy Family Residence from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26.
Interment will be private in New Jersey. Donations in memory of Pierrette Goulet can be made to Holy Family Residence, Scranton, PA.
