Richard Uhrin Obituary
Born in Peckville, he was the son of the late George and Lorraine Bell Uhrin and was a 1968 graduate of Olyphant High School. Prior to his disability, he was employed as a presser at L&G Manufacturing, Archbald. He attended Salvation Apostolic Temple Church, Scranton.
He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, socializing with friends and family, playing horseshoes, doing odd jobs around his home, taking care of his vegetable and flower gardens and decorating his home for the holidays. He was a fan of the New York Yankees and Minnesota Vikings. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Also surviving are a son, David Uhrin and wife, Erica, Olyphant; daughters, Shannon Noldy and husband, Chad, Jessup; Heather Uhrin, Scott Twp.; and Kristen Uhrin, Olyphant; stepdaughters, Angela Leak, Ellerbe, N.C., and Tara Tillman, Rockingham, N.C.; grandchildren, Christopher Uhrin, Brandon Uhrin-Coss, Montana Aiello, Emily Noldy, Jake Uhrin, John Aiello III, Abigail Uhrin and Jillian Noldy; stepgrandchildren, Denicha, Rochelle, Jasmine, Rochelle, Angelica and Johia; brothers, George Uhrin and wife, MaryAnn, Throop; Bruce Uhrin and wife, Sandra, Dickson City; and Kevin Uhrin and spouse, Bill Self, New York City; a sister, Evelyn Crabtree, Melbourne, Fla.; nieces and nephews.
He also was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Rutkowski, on Feb. 13.
Per his request, cremation will take place at Maple Hill Crematory, Archbald. A memorial service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. with services in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Apostolic Temple Church, 223 Main Ave., Scranton, PA 18504.
