Robert Hardos Obituary
Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late George and Susan Polesny Hardos. Bob attended Dunmore public schools and was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore. He served honorably in the Navy during WWII at the age of 17, and was a life member of the VFW McHugh-Bushweller Post 3474 in Dunmore. Before retirement, Bob worked for New Penn Trucking in Dunmore. He also was crossing guard in Dunmore, for many years.
Bob was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Penn State Football and the Dunmore Bucks. He loved traveling to casinos, playing cards, watching game shows and sneaking chocolate.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert Hardos and wife, Debbie, LaPlata, Md.; and George Hardos and wife, Nancy, Waldorf, Md.; four grandchildren, Stephen Hardos, Bradley Hardos, Christine Hardos and Tracey Hardos; a sister, Marie Hamm, Dunmore; two brothers-in-law, Frank Constable, Dunmore; and Louis Constable and wife, Louise, Dunmore; and a sister-in-law, Carol Portell, Jacksonville, Fla.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, George Hardos; and a sister, Martha Rafalko.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.
