Robert F. (Bob) Visbisky Sr., 87, died Nov. 1 at St. Joseph's Care Center, St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa, Fla. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Pietrewicz Visbisky. She died on Sept. 22, 2015.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Martha Pawlowski Visbisky. Robert was a 1954 graduate of Scranton Prep, a 1956 graduate of Keystone College, and he received a BS degree from Lehigh University in mechanical engineering in 1958. He served with the United States Army Engineers, and he had been employed as a mechanical engineer in the power generation industry, beginning with Consolidated Edison (New York City) and including Gilbert Associates (Reading, Pa.), SCANA (Columbia, S.C.), Raytheon Engineering (Pittsburgh and Tampa), and Tampa Electric Company, finally retiring from Zero Chaos Consulting, Tampa, Fla. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
Robert is survived by his sons, Tom (Tracy) and Kevin (Sherry); grandchildren, Victoria, Jessica, John and Caroline; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Visbisky Jr.; brothers, Vincent Visbisky and Joseph Wierzbicki; and a sister, Pearl Hrinko.
Family and friends may call Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Visitation Church, Dickson City. Entombment and military honors will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum, Dickson City.
