Ronald Sandrowicz Obituary

Ronald B. Sandrowicz, 53, of Scranton, died Wednesday in the VNA Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger Community Medical Center after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Scranton, son of the late Leo C. and Romaine Michalski Sandrowicz, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. Before his illness, he was employed as a welder.

Ronald was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed hunting, fishing and volunteering at Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

The family would like to thank the staff at Scranton Health Care Center and VNA Hospice for the loving care and compassion.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy and husband, Ralph Sparaney; and Sara and fiancé, Jody Joyce, all of Scranton; two brothers, Richard Sandrowicz and wife, Georgette, Indiana; and Leo C. Sandrowicz Jr. and wife, Lynn Marie, Scranton; two sisters, Lea Gargone and husband, David; and Lynn Carachilo and husband, Michael, all of Scranton; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, along with his beloved Amazon parrot, Poncho.

A memorial will be Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Eagen-Hughes Funeral Home, 2908 Birney Ave., Scranton, with services by the Rev. Dr. Stuart T. Wilson, interim pastor, Hickory Presbyterian Church. Interment, private at convenience of the family. Friends may call Saturday, 4 until time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, Clarks Summit, PA. 18411.
