Stephen Voyce Obituary

Stephen "Cy" Voyce, 90, a lifelong resident of Simpson, died Sunday. He and his wife, the former Ann Kulick, celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in April.

Son of the late John and Mary Ohotniky Voyce, he was a graduate of Fell High School, Simpson, and was a proud veteran of World War II. Cy was a retired social worker for the state Department of Welfare at Farview State Hospital, Waymart. He was also the proprietor of Red and Cy's Bar, Simpson; was a Fell Twp. school director for 18 years and chairman of the Simpson Democratic Party. Cy founded and developed Monkey Run Park in Simpson, was a founding member of Bucktail Hunting Lodge and an assistant scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 12. He was a member of Holy Trinity and St. Michael's Parish, Simpson, and its Holy Name Society.

Also surviving are a son, Dr. Stephen J. Voyce and wife, Peggy, Clarks Summit; a daughter Mary Ann Duffy and husband, Brian, Fabius, N.Y.; six grandchildren, Lauren and Allison Kras, Stephan, Michael, Daniel and Max Voyce; nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Veronica Voyce and Mary Meade.

The funeral will be Wednesday from the Joseph W Scotchlas Funeral home Inc., 621 Main St., Simpson, with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 46 Midland St., Simpson. Interment, Holy Trinity Cemetery, Simpson.
