Victoria Anne Palmer, age 71, of Taylor, passed away on the evening of Friday, Aug. 27, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton after a lengthy and courageous fight against chronic pain and illness.
Victoria was born on May 24, 1950, in Ontario, Canada, to the late William Mark and Janis Marie (Hendrick) Palmer. She lived most of her early life in North Tonawanda in Western New York. Victoria was kind, warm, compassionate and loving. She treated every person she encountered as if they were of great value and left them feeling like they truly mattered. It was not uncommon for her to come home, grab an umbrella, and run out to find the person she had seen walking in the rain and offer them a ride.
She will be remembered for her wicked sense of humor, her poise and presence, her love of home and those close to her, and for being so cool, she could start a jukebox with a bump of the hip.
Victoria is survived by her beloved partner of 31 years, Raymond Fotta; her children, Faith Victoria Palmer, of Rhinebeck, N.Y.; Lauren Elizabeth Moody, of Scranton; Kahlin Amber Murphy, of Columbus, Ohio; Terrin Francis Kelly, of Taylor; stepchildren, Chris (Roxon) Fotta, of Nanticoke; Margo (Joseph) Fotta-Reinhart, of Souderton; Katie (Brad) Casey, of Scranton; grandchildren, Leandra Ingiaimo and Tessa Gregorski, both of Scranton; many nephews and nieces; siblings, Susan Seasholtz, of Sarasota, Fla.; Randy (Susan) Palmer, of Wilkes-Barre; Robert Palmer, of Scranton; extended family members, Betsy (Bruce) Ramsay, of Frederick, Md.; and best friend, Antoinette "Toni" Granko, of Taylor.
Victoria was predeceased by a brother, Roger A. Mehner; and nephew, Clifton Palmer.
A celebration of Victoria's life and blessing service is scheduled for Saturday at noon at the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., at 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10 a.m. until services at the funeral home.
