Vivian Fuhlbrugge Obituary

Vivian Carmela Fuhlbrugge, 86, died Saturday at the Green Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility, Scranton. Her husband of 49 years is Wally Fuhlbrugge.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 16, 1929, daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa Izzi, Vivian was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School in Queens, N.Y., class of 1947. She later worked as a dietitian for the Good Samaritan Hospital in Babylon, N.Y., for a period of eight years. Before retirement, she was employed as a bookkeeper for a bank in Pompton Lakes, N.J., where she and her family also resided. Upon retirement, she and her family moved to Wallenpaupack Lake Estates in Ledgedale.

Vivian will be remembered as a loving, selfless, gentle person who never met a stranger, and who always seemed to find a ray of sunshine and goodness in everyone she loved. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be sorely missed.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Ellen Corbett; a son, Joseph Gagliardo; two stepsons, Mark and Stuart Fuhlbrugge; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Anthony.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christine; and her son, Vincent.

Vivian's family would like to thank the entire staff of the Green Ridge Skilled Nursing Facility for their excellent treatment and loving care given to her and the Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their compassionate attention shown to her.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday in St. Mary's R.C. Church, Ledgedale. Interment, St. Mary's Church Cemetery.
