Vivian Mary Griffin

Vivian Mary Griffin, 79, of Peckville, Pa., passed away Sunday, Aug. 28, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore, after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Kenneth J. Griffin of Peckville. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in May.

Born in Peckville, she was the daughter of the late Andrea and Mary (Martinelli) Guiducci. A 1954 graduate of Blakely High School, as well as a graduate of Madame Fenwick Beauty School, she was proprietor of Vivian's Beauty Salon for close to 60 years. While raising her children, Vivian volunteered as a Girl Scout leader, and was active in the PTA. Vivian was also a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville.

Vivian will be remembered as a sweet, gentle, kind woman liked by all, loved by many. Her family and lifelong friends meant the world to her. She loved being a wife, mother, sister, Grandma Bucky, Nona Vivi, aunt and best friend. She enjoyed yearly trips to the Florida Keys, as well as trips to NYC to see operas at the MET. Locally, she was a proud supporter of Blakely and Valley View High School football, and was a member of the Valley View Football Booster Club.

She is also survived by daughter, Sharon Clark and husband, Frank, Lehigh Valley; son, James Griffin and wife, Barbie, Forest City; brother, Mariano Guiducci of Skillman, N.J.; grandchildren, Colleen Griffin, Kelly and husband, Kyle Holgate; Jared Griffin, Kailyn and Frankie Clark and Kara and Emily Zerby; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sister-in-law, Marilyn Guiducci.

There will be a funeral Mass at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Peckville, on Sept. 10 at 9:30 a.m., to celebrate Vivian's life. Friends and family will be received in the foyer of the church from 8:30 until time of Mass.
