William Semanision Obituary

William Semanision, 82, of Peckville, died Tuesday at Mid-Valley Hospital, Peckville. His wife, the former Margaret M. Krisovitch, died Aug. 5, 2003.

Born in Olyphant, son of the late Joseph and Mary Pazinko Semanision, he was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius Ukranian Greek Catholic Church, Olyphant; and a graduate of Olyphant High School and the Johnson School. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific the- ater and was a member of the Raymond Henry American Legion Post 327, Olyphant; and Shopa-Davey VFW Post 6082, Peckville. Before retiring, he was a tool-and-die maker at Weston Components, Archbald.

Surviving are three sons, William J. Semanision and wife, Carole, Olyphant; George J. Semanision, Peckville; and Joseph M. Semanision, San Diego; three sisters, Helen Sanders, Anaheim, Calif.; Irene, Wiltsie, Rochester, Minn.; and Marie Narvid, Honesdale; five grandchildren, Dr. Kristen, Jaime Lynn, Matthew, Kyle and Cory.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann Chylak; and two brothers, George and John.

The funeral will be Saturday, with liturgy at 9:30 a.m. in St. Cyril and Methodius Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church.Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the parish cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. Arrangements by the Robert E. Decker Funeral Home, Peckville.
