William Wombacker Obituary

William "Billy" Wombacker, 51, of Davenport, Fla., died April 30.

He was born on May 14, 1966, in Clifton Twp., and had resided in Davenport since 2010. Billy served in the United States Navy aboard the aircraft carrier JFK from 1984-1986. After being discharged, he went to work as a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry for several years.

He was a volunteer firefighter throughout the years in Pennsylvania and was known to go fishing on the Salmon River in Pulaski, N.Y., with family in the fall. Billy also was a true NASCAR and New England Patriots fan and enjoyed playing pool and horseshoes.

He was predeceased by his father, Donald Wombacker Sr., and he is survived by his wife of eight years, Wendy Sekelsky-Wombacker, of Davenport; mother, Lucille Scott-Wombacker, of Scranton; daughter, Ashley, of Florida; son, William and his wife, Haley, of Berne, Ind.; brothers, Donald Jr. and his wife, Bernice, of Gouldsboro; and Paul and his wife, Kimmy, of Cape May, N.J.; four grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 4 until the memorial service at 5:30 p.m. at Gouldsboro United Methodist Church, 495 Main St., Gouldsboro, PA 18424.
