Benjamin Davey Obituary
Port Huron - Benjamin W. Davey Jr., 78, of Port Huron, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 22, 2018. He was surrounded by the love of his life, Sharon, and his family when he died peacefully in his home on hospice care after a lengthy illness.
He was born July 16, 1939 in Yale to the late Ada and Benjamin Davey Sr. He married Sharon L. Drown on October 25, 1958 in Port Huron.
Ben was a 1956 graduate of Port Huron High School and of Detroit Bible College. He was employed with Mueller Brass Co. as an electrician until his retirement in 2001 after 39 years of service.
Ben had a wonderful and fulfilled life, traveling with his wife, spending time with his wonderful family and living at the Villages in Florida for 16 years. He was an avid golfer, along with coaching and playing baseball and hockey. His most satisfying time was spent teaching the Word of God as a Bible instructor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Sharon; three children, Benjamin (Ellyn) Davey III, Terri Lynn (Don) Harrison and Daniel (Lisa) Davey; eight grandchildren, Benjamin (Sylvia) Davey IV, Matthew, Joshua and Paul (Erin) Harrison, Delaney, Reagan, Wesley and Emmaline Davey; five great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Martha) Davey and Harry (Wendy) Davey; sister-in-law, Marilyn Davey; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Davey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018 in Wadhams Baptist Church, 5461 Lapeer Road, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. Pastor Stuart Cummins will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot.
