I was surprised to read that it has been 10 years. Carolyn would occasionally phone me on my cell and leave a message if unable to reach me. I kept one of those voice messages on my phone for a long time... because her voice was uplifting and comforting. She was a precious and unforgettable person.

Dearest Carl, Ed and Ann,
I can still hear your mother's voice, and see her smile. What an incredibly wonderful and positive woman. I can only imagine how much you will miss her. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers.

I felt a profound sadness come over me as I read Tom's e-mail re: Carolyn's passing. How can I feel such affection for a woman whom I've known only a few years? I think of her as full of zest for life...upbeat and funny, with a gleam in her eyes as if she were thinking of some private joke. It's fitting, really, that she chose Fat Tuesday to pass on. Her faith, I know, was important to her, as was having fun and celebrating life. Her love and dedication to her family was admirable. Her positive thoughts and lively spirit were infectious; you just felt better after interacting with her. She will indeed be missed.

I met Carolyn as a very young teller at Peoples Bank-Marysville Office. She was caring, honest and oh so funny!!. We followed each other to different branches and finally ended up at the Ft. Gratiot Branch. I was her Customer Service Rep. and she was my sounding board. She was an amazing woman who I am blessed to have known. Peace.

You do not know me but I think I knew Carolyn's mother if she was the Rose that worked at Sperrys. My grandmother, Vi Bond was a buyer there and a very good friend of Rose's. I spent many a night in Sperrys waiting for Gramma and often spoke with Rose. She was a wonderful person and I see some of her qualities in Carolyn, especially the wonderful smile. I'm sorry to intrude if you are no relation to the Rose I knew. Either way, my sympathies as I too lost my Mom last year.
