My Grandma
Ask me who my grandma was and you will see
Such a unique person that you just wouldn’t believe
My grandma was just perfect in so many ways
Like the way she could make a bed and you wanted to stay there for days
Her plants were so beautiful for she sang to them to make them grow
All she did was open her mouth and the music began to flow.
My grandma had a candy dish that most of us remember
But just one piece so it doesn’t spoil your dinner.
She loved beautiful things and that she was
Her eyes were like the sky
And her cheeks were always blush
My grandma loved to cook and that she could do
The cookies were amazing and the seven layer salad too.
I will never forget the way she smelled with her expensive perfume
And all the beautiful clothes and shoes she kept in her room.
Her hair was always done and nails always painted
The lipstick on her lips that barely even faded.
My grandma was my grandma and that will never change
The little things that make you, you have just been put away
I hold you very close to my heart
And now that you are gone
I am really hoping that this pain doesn’t last for long.
I know I will see you again someday on the streets of gold
Just put out your hand and I will follow you home.
I love you Grandma Manning
