Lavina M. "Jerrie" Mahaney Port Huron Lavina M. "Jerrie" Mahaney, 87, passed from this world to heavens everlasting peace to join those loved ones who went before her on July 2, 2010. She was born on December 6, 1922 in Owosso, Michigan daughter of the late Lloyd and Hazel Azelton. Lavina married Hobert Mahaney on April 1, 1950 in Angola, Indiana. He passed away on April 26, 1997. He was the love of her life for 47 years. She enjoyed reading, watching vintage TV and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Lavina was a member of Northgate Bible Church. Lavina is survived by her daughter, Sandra Gibson of Yale; daughter, Kathy (Re) Meyers of Columbia, South Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Mary (Lilly) and Barry Goodwin of Kimball; son and daughter-in-law, George and Jackie Mahaney of Jeddo; son, John Mahaney of Port Huron; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Jim Neal of Coweta, OK; and a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Judy Palmer of Lakes of the Ozarks, Missouri; 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Helen and Eleanor and a granddaughter, Jodie Lanae Mahaney. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Northgate Bible Church, 4311 Pine Grove Rd., Fort Gratiot Twp., Rev. David G. Caswell, pastor of Northgate Bible Church will officiate. Interment will be in Caswell Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Jowett Funeral Home, 1634 Lapeer Ave. at 17th Street, Port Huron and Thursday 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. in the church. Pallbearers will be Josh Witten, Chris Mahaney, Owen Quinn, Robert Cook, Roy Cook and Eric Cook. Memorial tributes may be made to the Northgate Bible Church. www.jowettfuneraldirectors.com
