Lloyd Herbert Thomas, 88, passed away due to complications from cancer on Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
He was born June 7, 1929 in Port Huron to the late Eugene and Beatrice Thomas. He married Harriet M. Temple on August 21, 1948. They were married 49 years before her death on April 8, 1998.
On March 24, 2001 he married Mary Murray Walker, formerly of Port Huron, they remained married until his death.
Mr. Thomas worked for Port Huron City/St. Clair County until he partnered in owning Valentine Thomas Associates in Port Huron. After moving to Florida he became the Executive Director of Engineering for Pinellas County until his retirement in 2003. He had been a member of both the Kiwanis Club and Optimist Club serving as a past president. He was a member of Port Huron Country Club and past president of Black River Country Club and remained an avid golfer. He was a past member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church.
He is survived by his wife Mary; two children, Kristine LaBounty (Jim) and Cynthia Thomas; a granddaughter, Jordan Klaas and seven nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother William Eugene Thomas and an infant son.
Inurnment will be in the Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron, next to his first wife Harriet. There will be a graveside prayer. No date has been set.

So thankful for this dear man that has been my father-in-law for the last 16-1/2 years. He had the biggest, kindest heart. He would do anything in the world for you.

Such an unexpected loss of my Father. He was a great man and a great Father. He was always there for us. He was selfless and everything he did was for those he loved. This one will be difficult. I am 65 yrs old and have never had a day without him, weather near or far. As sick as he was those last few days and even with so much pain he never lost his kindness and sense of humor telling his nurses about how I used to run down the street naked and he'd have to run to catch me when I was small. I love you Dad. Forever, Kris
