Robert Fox Obituary
Clyde Township - 84, passed away of natural causes peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, May 2, 2021.
He was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 8, 1936, son of the late Matthew William and Madeline Matilda (Labens) Fox.
Robert married Margo Jean Pullen on February 2, 1963, at St. David Catholic Church in Detroit.
Bob grew up between his family home in Detroit and farm in West Branch. He served his country with the United States Army in Frankfort, Germany. He was a lifelong car salesman in the Detroit and Bluewater Area, having sold his first car when he was just 12 years old. Bob loved anything with a motor, social gatherings, gambling and hunting. He would race anything he was driving; competing in the Flying Mile on Daytona Beach and multiple offshore boat races. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren at their Port Huron home and northern Michigan homes; watching them sled, snowmobile, water and downhill skiing, horse back riding, laughing on hay rides and rooting them on in any sport or performance they were in. Family was everything to Bob especially his loving wife Margo, his rock of 58 years.
Additional surviving family are his children, Pamela Leonard, Edward (Susanne) Fox, and Roger (Jessica) Fox; daughter-in-law, Tracy Fox; grandchildren, Ashley, Matthew, Lauren, Coral, Amber, Erin, Adam, Ethan, Gianna, and Gabrielle; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Fox; brother, Bill Fox; and sister, Rita Jungwirth.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home-Hancock Street. A funeral mass will be Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Graveside services, Military Honors, and Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edward, Roger, Matthew, Adam, Ethan, and James Frazer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
