Ann Stearns Obituary
Born in Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Rector Samuel Hunt, Jr. and the late Mildred Wester Hunt and was married for over 49 years to Dale Arthur Stearns, who survives. She was a career homemaker, a member of Front St. United Methodist Church and was formerly employed with Head Start Kindergarten many years ago. Ann was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time at Hyco lake. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Stearns is survived by her husband of the home; two children, Dale A. Stearns, Jr. and his wife, Kelly Wooten, of Chapel Hill and Rachel Goffin and her husband, Michael, of Durham; three grandchildren, Nolan Stearns, Raynor Stearns and Luna Goffin; two sisters, Carolyn Hunt and her husband, Bill Wilkinson, of Burlington and Susan Douglas and her husband, Bob, of Greensboro; and a brother, Sam Hunt III and his wife, Vicky, of Burlington.
A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, September 29, 2017 at Pine Hill Cemetery Columbarium by Dr. Dennis J. Sebesan. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CrossRoads Sexual Assault and Response and Resource Center at www.crossroadscares.org or to Children's Home Society of North Carolina at www.chsnc.org.

Just doing a little Googling, and I came across this sad news. Strangely enough, my dad died in September of 2017 also, so I can relate to similarly tough times. I have no idea if you'll ever see this, but I wanted to send along my heavily belated condolences anyway. Had been aware for a while of your recent marriage, but I had not heard about your daughter, Luna. Great name. Congratulations on those last three counts, and I hope you and yours are well.

Dale, I just learned of your wife's passing. It's 2 min. till the service and I can not make it. I just got out of the hospital and rehabilitation while still have rehab. at home 3-5 times a week. Walking is a issue but I am getting stronger. I tell you this because I want to come by and visit with you ASAP. Times like this test our faith and depending on God for help. Time will heal and make things better. I am so sorry you are having to face this now.
