Corey Torain Obituary
BURLINGTON - Mr. Corey Martel Torain, 24, of 504 Ross Street, died June 27, 2010 in Winston-Salem.
He was the son of Mr. Felipe Chancelor Torain and Mrs. Celeste Richmond Richards, both of Burlington.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Kendall Elise Gaines, of Winston-Salem; one sister, India Torain; and his girlfriend, LaShondra Gaines, of Winston-Salem.
He was a member of Ebenezer UCC.
The public viewing will be Wednesday, June 30 from 1 until 9 p.m. at Sharpe Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Thursday, July 1 at 3 p.m. at Ebenezer UCC. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:30 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at Ebenezer UCC and at other times the family will receive visitors at the home.
Sharpe Funeral Home is serving the family.

Aunt Missy, Juanelle, and Nikki I am truly sorry for your loss. I remember(when we younger) me and Corey would play outside and we would argue all the time till we got older. I am gonna miss him VERY MUCH. For me its hard because its been a long time since i've seen him. And we were all so close that we called each other cousins. I am gonna miss that big smile of his.
When he was at school he looked out for me, even though he was younger.
Corey was always smiling or making you laugh.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
