Jefferson Snipes Obituary

HILLSBOROUGH - Jefferson Robert Snipes Jr., a U.S. Army veteran and son of the late Jefferson Robert Snipes Sr. and Ozzie Tate Snipes, was born Dec. 23, 1946. He passed away April 14, 2015, in the VA Medical Center, Durham, N.C.
Survivors include daughters, Shaunta Snipes, Jeffonda Watkins, Shaftina Snipes and Ossie Rone; son, Jefferson Snipes Mitchell; stepchildren, Bernice Mayo, Toni Shaw and Darrell McCulley; two sisters, Carol W. Shepherd and Valgean Mitchell; and one aunt, Ivory Vincent.
Public viewing will be Sunday, April 19, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.at Chavis-Parker Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of Jacki Shelton Green.
The funeral will be Monday, April 20, 2015, at noon at Gaines Chapel AME Church with visitation from 11 a.m. to noon in the church.
Burial will be Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, N.C.
