Lorena Talley Obituary
She was of the Baptist faith and attended Lea Bethel Baptist Church, worked for Kale Knitting before going to work for General Electric of Mebane and retired from there. She enjoyed traveling and going to the coast with her sister, fishing as long as they were able, and was a member of the Mebane Go-Getters Club.
She is survived by a son, Dan Talley and wife Lounell of Prospect Hill; daughters, Jackie T. Knott of Roxboro, Roanne T. Roland of Graham and Joanne Talley of the home; sister, Florine Robertson; eight grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; three great- stepgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack C. Talley; son, Samuel T. Talley; parents, Herbert J. and Hassie Whitfield Long; brothers Thurman Long and Wilmer Long; sisters, Naomi L. Talley, Christine Davenport and Mary Lou House.
The family will receive friends Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, from 5:30 until 8 p.m.
at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service, 1308 S. Third Street, Mebane, NC and at other times at the home.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Lea Bethel Baptist Church, Prospect Hill, NC, officiated by the Rev. Calvin Sacra with burial to follow in the Cooper Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215, Lea Bethel Baptist Church, 1820 Ridgeville Road, Prospect Hill NC 27314 or Cooper Cemetery, c/o of Edwin Yarbrough, 1223 Ridgeville Road, Prospect Hill, NC 27314.

Lorena was special to our family. She was the person that made my dad happy for over 20 years and for that I am forever grateful to her. He loved her and her family and we appreciate your family for making him feel like family and including him in your family and taking care of him. Lorena took real good care of him. There will always be an empty place in our hearts for my dad and I am sure you will have that empty place for your mom too. Precious are the memories of both of them. Our prayers will be with you in the days ahead.
