Myrtle Minton Obituary

GRAHAM - Mrs. Myrtle Melinda Teague Minton, 89, formerly of Wilkesboro, passed away at 8:10 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014.
She will be greatly missed, and her memory cherished, by her family and friends.
Mrs. Minton was born Sept. 28, 1924, in Ashe County, to John Ford Teague and Armada Clemintine Ford Teague. She was a former textile worker and was also heavily involved in the Foster Grandparents Program.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie R. Minton; daughter, Shelia Gay Minton; three sons, Robert Lee Minton, Wayne Lewis Minton and Charles Stanley Minton; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Rae Minton.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Beaman and husband Myles of Graham and Florence M. Wallace and husband Dean of Lima, Ohio; a son, Lloyd Minton and wife Rose of Lima, Ohio; six grandchildren, Mark Beaman, Jason Minton, Julie Minton Lovette, Tony Minton, Christina Minton Osting and Bobby Minton; six great-grandchildren, Stephanie Beaman, Christie Beaman, Haley Lovette, Abigail Lovette, Chassie Ruhlen and Josh Holmes; and a sister, Ruby Hayes of North Wilkesboro.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Shady Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tom Moore and the Rev. Hubert Bullis officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
