Nina Cheek Obituary

GRAHAM - Mrs. Nina Bright Cheek, 88, beloved wife, mother, and nana, of 925 Hanford Road, Graham, died Saturday, January 31, 2009, at her residence.

A native of Pasquotank County, she was the daughter of Carl Andrew Bright and Annie Mae Eves Bright, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was an avid golfer, a talented artist, and a good friend to all.

Survivors include her husband, Albert P. Cheek, of the home; three sons, Glenn Preston Cheek, and wife Tia, of Apex, Alan Marvin Cheek, of Beaufort, and David Staley Cheek, and wife Tammy, of Graham; a sister, Jean Clinkscales, of Weeksville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Cheek, Elisabeth Dubberly and husband Brian, Timothy Cheek, Lauren Cheek, D.J. Cheek, and Anna Cheek. She was preceded in death by one sister, Edna Mae Hart, and three brothers, Chester Bright, Melvin Bright, and Fleetwood Bright.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 2 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham with Dr. David Kolb and Mr. Glenn Preston Cheek officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence.
