Virgil Hinshaw Obituary
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Josephine Clark Hinshaw and son of Clyde I. Hinshaw and Laura Carter Hinshaw, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during World War II in the Medical Corps. Virgil retired from the textile industry and was a member of Graham Friends Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Ann Roper and husband Bobby of Graham and Nellie Benton of King; son, Clyde Vernon Hinshaw of Mebane; three grandchildren, Robert Roper, Philip Benton and Christopher Benton and wife Leslie; two great-grandchildren, Marisa Benton and Isabella Grace Benton; and one great-great-grandchild, Isaiah Benton.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd Hinshaw, Earl "Jack" Hinshaw and Ross Hinshaw.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas K. Barton Sr. with the family receiving friends from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Lola Crow Foundation, C/O Graham Friends, 700 North Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.
