April Brown

Mrs. April May Brown,
58, of Stone Mountain, for-
merly of Elberton and Toc-
coa, passed away on Mon-
day, Sept. 1, 2025, at
Emory University Hospi-
tal in Atlanta.
April was born in At-
lanta on April 2, 1967,
daughter of the late Mary
Jo Pat Clay Duckworth.
She was a 1985 graduate of
Elbert County Compre-
hensive High School and
worked at Group Under-
writers in Elberton and
American Pest Control in
Toccoa. She attended the
First Presbyterian Church
in both Elberton and Toc-
coa. April loved being out-
doors by water, spending
time at the lake and the
beach.
Surviving are her hus-
band of 38 years, Kenneth
Allan Brown; daughter,
Miranda Brown Hanley
and her husband Noah, of
Stone Mountain; son,
Chandler Kenneth Brown
and his fiance' Anaise Jor-
dan, of Fort Lauderdale,
Fla.; grandchildren: Lin-
coln Hanley and Lachyln
Hanley; siblings: Crystal
Crawford and her husband
Jamie, of Seneca, S.C.,
Sandra Alman and her
husband Craig, of Pigeon
Forge, Tenn., and Debbie
Boling and her husband
Gary, of Maryville, Tenn.;
and mother-in-law, Joy
McIntosh Brown of Elber-
ton.
Visitation celebrating
April's life will be held on
Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025,
from 6-8 p.m. at Berry Fu-
neral Home, 1265 Wash-
ington Highway, Elberton.
Graveside services will
be held for the family on
Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025, in
Elberton's Elmhurst
Cemetery.
