Don Allen Gomez

Mr. Don Allen Gomez,
age 79, of Carters Drive,
Toccoa, passed away
Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024 at
his residence.
A son of the late P.J.
and Ruby Cobb Gomez, he
was born April 21, 1944 in
Stephens County, Georgia,
having lived most of his
life in Toccoa. He was a
veteran of the U.S. Air
Force. He was employed
with Cobb's Roofing for
many years and later was
a bus driver with the
Stephens and Franklin
County Schools for 13
years. He enjoyed fishing,
racing and any kind of
sports and gardening.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his four siblings,
Dale Gomez, Richard
Gomez, Michael Gomez
and Marilyn Gomez.
Survivors include his
wife of the home, Tassie
Carter Gomez; children,
Jody (Lydia) Gomez, Dar-
ren Gomez and Von
(Michelle) Ivester; grand-
children, Charlotte and
Chris Gomez, Talan
Grafton and Rylan Ivester;
mother-in-law, Betty
Carter of Toccoa.
Graveside services
were held Saturday, Feb.
17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at
Stephens Memorial Gar-
dens with the Rev. David
Mitchell officiating. The
following gentlemen
served as pallbearers:
Rusty Mitchell, Talan
Grafton, Jimmy Mitchell,
Joe Morrison, Keith Cobb
and Chris Gomez.
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Friday,
from 6-8 p.m. Online con-

the Stephens Memorial
Gardens with the Acree-
Davis Funeral Home and
Crematory in charge of the
arrangements for Mr. Don
