Jonah Six Young obituary

Jonah Young Obituary

It is with broken hearts
that we share the passing
of our beloved Jonah, who
left this world far too soon
at just 18 years old.
Jonah was a radiant
soul, creative, brilliant,
witty, and endlessly kind.
He had a gift for making
people feel loved, seen,
and accepted, and every-
one who met him was
touched by his genuine
heart and dazzling smile.
He loved music, fashion,
and theater, often mesmer-
izing others with his beau-
tiful voice and presence on
stage. Among his many ac-
complishments, Jonah
graduated SCHS at 16 and
began college the same
year, where he continued
to shine academically and
personally.
Jonah was the cher-
ished son of Ashley and
Robert, and the devoted
big brother to Macy,
Gabriel, Skylar, Sadie,
Phoebe, and Hope. His
bond with his mom was
one of extraordinary close-
ness, a rare and beautiful
connection that inspired
all who witnessed it. He
shared countless late-
night taco runs with his
"cuss buddy" and sister,
Macy, and found a soul-
mate in friendship with
Sydney Hess, who under-
stood his heart and strug-
gles like no one else.
He also leaves behind
his loving grandparents
Noreen and John Sirera,
and Mimi and Ron Young;
his Aunt Jen and Uncle
Sean Sirera and cousins
Ethan and Paige and Aunt
Beth Young; along with
many friends and extend-
ed family who adored him
deeply.
Jonah's family is pro-
foundly proud of his
courage. As a young gay
man growing up in the
Bible Belt, he faced chal-
lenges that would have
crushed many, but Jonah
met the world with brav-
ery, humor, and authentic-
ity. He was never defined
by his struggles with men-
tal illness; instead, he was
a beacon of joy, creativity,
and resilience. He lived
freely, fearlessly, and
beautifully, always striv-
ing to be known and ac-
cepted for exactly who he
was.
Some of Jonah's proud-
est memories included
falling in love, sharing a
glass of wine with his dad
in Switzerland, leading
roles in theater, standing
taller than his dad, and
leaving others awestruck
with his musical and fash-
ion talents. His quick wit
and charming humor left
his father dumbfounded
and his mother filled with
pride at every turn.
Jonah is finally free
from the pain of mental ill-
ness, but the love he gave
and the light he shared
will live on forever. His
family wants others to
know that if you are strug-
gling with suicidal
thoughts, identity, or feel-
ing like you don't belong,
you are not alone. There
are communities that will
love and accept you with-
out question, just as Jesus
welcomed Jonah exactly
as he was: enough, always
enough.

Jonah was a son, broth-
er, friend, and light to all
who knew him. His legacy
is one of love, courage, au-
thenticity, and brilliance.
He will be missed beyond
words but remembered
forever.
