On March 7, 2024, sur-
rounded by his loving fam-
ily and the Father's amaz-
ing Grace, Dr. Kenneth
Conoley, age 93 of Toccoa
went to his heavenly
home.
He was born in Atlanta
Ga. on Jan. 17, 1931, the
son of John James Cono-
ley Sr. and Grace Moore
Conoley, and was the
younger brother of Jack
Jr. He graduated from
North Druid Hills High
School and at 16 years of
age entered Emory Uni-
versity. After graduating,
he attended the Medical
College of Georgia where
one of his professors
helped him to discover his
true love of pediatric
medicine. After graduat-
ing, he moved to Califor-
nia and began his residen-
cy at Los Angeles County
Hospital. Before comple-
tion of his residency, he
was drafted into the army
as a medic and paratroop-
er. He did his training at
Ft Bragg in the 82nd Air-
borne as a captain and was
then sent to Panama to
serve. Upon his return
from the army, he com-
pleted his residency in
California. In 1960, a col-
lege buddy contacted him
about a need for a pediatri-
cian at Toccoa Medical
Arts Clinic. He then
moved to Toccoa and be-
gan his lifelong career of
caring for children in the
community. He retired
from Toccoa Clinic in 1995
and in 2006 he and his wife
Dot moved to Athens Ga.
In March 2024, he re-
turned to live in Toccoa
and happily began to re-
unite with many Toccoa
friends. He was a member
of Toccoa First Methodist
Church, a place dear to
him and his family. Dr.
Conoley loved and enjoyed
many things. He was an
avid reader and he spent a
majority of his day with a
book, and later in life, his
well worn Kindle in his
hands. He loved to travel
and during his lifetime
had an opportunity to visit
many different cities and
countries. He loved Lake
Hartwell where he de-
signed and built his dream
home. He was very artistic
and enjoyed gardening,
painting, and playing pi-
ano. First and foremost, he
loved his community, his
family, and especially his
profession.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his brother Jack
Conoley Jr.
Survivors include his
wife of 59 years, Dorothy
Roberts Conoley of the
