Mrs. Marcelene Car-
olyn Wilson Garrett, age
82 of Mize Road, Toccoa
passed away Tuesday,
Dec. 6, 2022 at her resi-
dence.
A daughter of the late
Fred and Ellie Bell Jenk-
ins Wilson, she was born
July 29, 1940 in Stephens
County, Georgia where
she lived all her life. She
was a homemaker and a
member of Highpoint
Community Church. She
loved camping, gospel mu-
sic, worshiping Christ,
helping the elderly and
homebound. She loved her
grandchildren, enjoyed
holidays and cooking.
In addition to her par-
ents, she was preceded in
death by her husband,
Ralph Edward Garrett in
2013, by an infant son, Ger-
ald Randall Garrett and by
two brothers, Tommy and
Kenneth Wilson.
Survivors include her
daughter and son-in-law,
Amanda and Leon Kimsey
of Toccoa; grandchildren,
Blake Bowen and Dustin
Garrett; sister, Shelby
King Heaton of Toccoa;
sister-in-law, Katie Wilson
of Thompson, Ga.; close
friends, Mr. and Mrs. Wal-
ter Galloway, Frances
Stiarwalt and Lorraine
Gibson; a number of
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were
held Saturday, Dec. 10,
2022, at 2 p.m. in the Hill-
crest Chapel of the Acree-
Davis Funeral Home with
the Rev. Dr. Tommy Chil-
dress officiating. The fol-
lowing gentlemen served
as pallbearers, Scott Chit-
wood, Joel May, Blake
Bowen and Dustin Garrett
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Friday,
from 6-8 p.m. and on Satur-
day from 12 p.m. until the
service time. Online con-

Interment followed in
the Toccoa City Cemetery
with the Rev. Joel May of-
ficiating. Acree-Davis Fu-
neral Home and Cremato-
ry is in charge of the ar-
rangements for Mrs.
