Sammy Ivester Obituary

Mr. Sammy Roy Ivester,
age 79 of Toccoa passed
away Monday, July 7, 2025
at Pruitt Health-Grand-
view, Athens, Georgia.
A son of the late Ralph
Ivester and Emma Lee
Weaver Ivester, he was
born November 16, 1945 in
Franklin County, Georgia
having lived most of his
life in Stephens County,
Georgia. He was a Veter-
an of the U.S. Marine
Corps, serving from 1970
through 1973. He was em-
ployed with Coats and
Clark, Coats American for
35 years and later with
Patterson Pump with 10
years of service before re-
tiring. He was of the Bap-
tist faith. He was an avid
coin collector and enjoyed
spending time with his
grandchildren.
In addition to his par-
ents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Brenda
Jones Ivester in 2015 and
by a sister, Joyce Trow-
man.
Survivors include his
son and daughter-in-law,
Wes and Ashley Ivester of
Jefferson, Georgia; grand-
children, Xander Ivester
and Trinity Ivester; two
sisters, Carolyn Bobbitt
and Jan Ivester both of
Toccoa; brother, Jerry
Ivester of Toccoa; a num-
ber of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Wednes-
day, July 9, 2025, 5 p.m. un-
til 8 p.m. Online condo-
lences may be left for the
family at www.acree-
davisfh.com.
His wishes were to be
cremated with no service.
Acree-Davis Funeral
Home and Crematory is in
charge of the arrange-
ments for Mr. Sammy Roy
Ivester.
