MOUNTAIN CITY - Carrie Lee Pennington, age 98, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away Thursday, December 11, 2025 at Mountain City Care Center. Carrie was born July 15, 1927 in Johnson County, TN to the late Joe Norris and Ila Reece Norris. In addition to her parents Carrie was preceded in death by her husband, Willie (Bill) Pennington, daughter, Cassie Pennington, son, Paul Pennington, daughter-in-law, Norma Kay Pennington, granddaughter, Angela Campbell, sisters, Josephine Revell, Lara Sue Norris, Elizabeth Horne, Kathleen Absher, Ruby Harper and Julia Kate Stanley, brothers, Junior Norris, Mack Norris and Jimmy Dean Norris.
Carrie worked at Mountain City Glove Plant for 22 years. She also worked at the Rexall Drug Store. Carrie enjoyed gardening, working puzzle books, crocheting and most of all reading her Bible.
Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Robert Pennington, sisters, Betty Lou Stanley, Louise Morefield (Harold), brother, Tommy Jack Norris two great-grandsons, Dan & Joe Campbell and their children, special family and friends, Patricia Guy, Sue Rominger, David Stanley, Todd Grayson and all her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per Carrie's wishes no service will be held.
