Robert Fritts Obituary

Robert "Bob" Parker Fritts

August 3, 1957 -

November 23, 2024

On August 3, 1957, Bob Fritts, a son of Palm Beach County and adopted son of Johnson County, first drew breath. His life was marked by devotion: to his calling as an attorney, to his family, friends and neighbors, and, most notably, to the laughter that seemed to spring from the very essence of his being. For four decades, he practiced law in Greenacres, FL alongside his trusted business partner Toni Monk. Bob was esteemed by his clients for his clear-eyed counsel and the warmth he bestowed upon all who sought his help. His advocacy was not merely a profession, but a vocation-in which he found both purpose and joy.

Beyond his professional endeavors, he further served his community through the Greenacres Kiwanis Club, working hand-in-hand with his cherished friend, Mark Scheinbaum. Whether championing local causes or forging new friendships, his commitment to bettering the world around him resonated in every life he touched.

The law office was not his only arena; Saturdays in the fall revealed his unwavering dedication to the Florida Gators, whose games "Honest Bob" attended with a band of lifelong college companions, including Ed Oliva and John Williams. In those moments, the roar of the crowd was a chorus of camaraderie, each triumphant play sealing memories that would span decades. Equally cherished were his weekly trivia contests with the "Florida Boys," led by him and Joe Lee, wherein the same keen mind that served his clients was found sharing knowledge and subsequent victories -- often for weeks or months in a row.

Bob spent over three decades on Hypoluxo Island, weaving himself into the tapestry of the neighborhood with good humor, kindheartedness, and an ever-ready invitation to wander along the shoreline. He loved starting his day cycling under the thick canopy of Hypoluxo Island, greeting longtime neighbors like Norb and Diana McNamara, and Dave Stewart, who he worked to elect mayor. Middays were often spent at 'Cafe Lexus' laughing along with Neil Rogers and Dan LeBatard, and he would regularly end his days swimming in his pool, listening to a broadcast of Marlins baseball.

His passion for travel, whether near or far, underscored a spirit of curiosity that he sustained with each journey he embarked upon. Bob cherished his time with family, particularly with Jeff and Pam Fritts, surrounded by the serene nature of Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee. It is there he met Kelly Turner, who accompanied him to his final day. Bob found so much peace and serenity -and love- in Johnson County.

His laughter-so rich, so genuine-lingers in the hearts of those who remain. He leaves behind his beloved children Valerie and Parker, cherished partner Kelly Turner, and his former wife of thirty years, Michele, with whom he shared innumerable days of joy and the nurturing of a loving family. May the sunshine of Palm Beach County forever reflect the warmth Bob brought into the world and may his memory be a beacon of compassion, loyalty, and mirth to all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Kiwanis International in his name.

Only knew Bob briefly. He handled some legal issues for us. But found him to be a very pleasant attorney to do business with.
To Robert's family, our deepest sympathy. May he Rest In Peace. Tom & Lillian Rumore, PRS IV, Greenacres and Long Island, N.Y.

For over ten years I had the privilege of working with Bob. He was loved by his numerous clients who trusted "the Voice" to give them guidance during their difficult times. I wish I could join you for his memorial but know that I´m thinking of you and hoping your memories of the great times you spent with him help you during this sad time.
