Ashley Firmin Obituary
Funeral services for Ashley Ann Firmin will be at 1 p.m., Monday, April 25, 2011, in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel, Oakdale, with Deacon Dale Deshotel officiating. Committal service will follow in the Oakdale Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks of Oakdale.
Ashley, 28, of Oberlin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, April 21, 2011 in her residence.
She was born on May 23, 1982 in Kinder to Joey Benjamin Mattocks and Julie Teresa Morgan Mattocks. She was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Oberlin, a medical secretary at the Federal Correctional Institute of Oakdale. She was also a loving mother of three, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Her grandparents, Ben and Gretta Ellzey, and her aunt, Debbie Mc Daniel precedes her in death.
She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory, her partner and companion, Rick Smith of Oberlin; her parents, Joey Benjamin Mattocks and Julie Terese Mattocks, both of Oberlin; her son, Jackson Cane Smith of Oberlin; her two daughters, Grace Ann Firmin and Reese Carolyn Smith, both of Oberlin; step-daugther, Isabella Grace Smith of Oberlin; one sister, Candice Terese Beltran, her nephew and Godson, Carson Jude Soileau, both of Lake Charles; her maternal grandparents, Clifton and Carolyn Morgan of Guy Community; maternal uncles and aunts, Brad Morgan and his wife, Jody of Guy Community, Philip Morgan and his wife, Leah of Oakdale; paternal uncle, John Lee Brown and his wife, Janette of Seattle, Washington and a host of cousins and friends
Pallbearers to serve are Brandon Paul, Phillip Morgan, Brad Morgan, Kinsey Morgan, Josh Firmin and Chad Byrd.
Visitation will be observed Sunday, from 11 a.m. until time of service in the chapel. A rosary will be recited Sunday, April 24, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Ashley was like one of my babies all through her years at Oberlin High School. She brought so much joy and laughter to our house, Julie. Last night Melissa and I laughed about some of the funny things that used to go on. We were truly blessed for having her in our lives for 28 years...God Bless your family and I will always cherish her memory.
