Barbara Piro Obituary
Anacoco - Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Mize Piro will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Labby Memorial Funeral Home of Leesville, with Rev's Paul Piro and John Smith officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. in the Slack Memorial Cemetery in Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. in the Labby Memorial Funeral Home in Leesville.
Barbara was born on December 9, 1949 in Springhill, LA. She was a longtime resident of Anacoco, LA. She received her Bachelor degree, Masters and +30 from Northwestern State University, and spent the next 37 years teaching. She retired in May of 2008 after many years as an Elementary School Teacher at Anacoco.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Vernon & Pauline Slack Mize; Her Husband: Joe Piro; One Daughter: Kaye Suzanne Piro.
She is survived by: Her Son and Daughter in law: Paul & Marie Piro of Jonesville, LA; Her Daughter and Son in law: Jocelyn & Kyle Wilson of Jackson, MS; Her Brother and Sister in law: Hugh & Eva Mize of Springhill, LA; Four Grandchildren: Anna Piro, Wen Piro, Adeline Wilson, Grayson Wilson; and her close friend Vada Sennett.

What a wonderful soul she was. So sweet and kind to everyone. Happy memories, she made the best homemade lasagna!! I still use her recipe to this day. Praying for the family.

Barbara was a kind friend. Although she was very quiet when she spoke we all listened. She was a delight and joy to be around. God blessed her in many ways. Rest in peace, Sweet lady.
