Burk Fowler Obituary
Mr. Burk Fowler, age 92 of Montgomery, Louisiana passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017.
Born Saturday, September 27, 1924 in Wheeling, Louisiana, he was a member of Atlanta Baptist Church where he served as deacon, and was also a 50 year member of Montgomery Lodge. He was an avid fisherman of white perch and bream, enjoyed gardening and spending time with family as well as his Masonic fellowship. Mr. Fowler was a US Army veteran of WWII.
Mr. Fowler was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Andrews Fowler; parents, Frank and Hester Lee Stroud Fowler; brothers, Buford Fowler and Arvil Fowler Sr.; and son-in-law, Fabian Geisman, and a great-great-granddaughter Korlyn Chiasson.
Those left to cherish memory include children, Jenny Geisman and Sandra Bihm (Curtis); grandchildren, Crystal Franzese (Joseph), Mike Lindsey (Corla), Ginger Burney (Mike), Hunter Geisman (Cami), Elizabeth Boasso (Chris), and Monica Bihm ; sisters-in-law, Joanne Fowler and Beverly Andrews; brother-in-law, Frank Cole, 14 great-grandchildren, and 17 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Atlanta Baptist Church with Rev. Dusty Durbin officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, in Montgomery under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes in Winnfield.
The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from noon until time of services.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Wayne Fowler, Mike Lindsey, Hunter Geisman, Drew Andrews, Kyle Theriot, and Kevin Terrebone.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Atlanta Baptist Church Family Life Center, Montgomery Masonic Lodge, or the Scottish Rite.
