Don Charpentier Obituary

Don Charpentier

Don served in the U.S. Military for 34 years. He was first a U.S. Marine and then served in the Air Force, retiring from active duty May 1, 1984.

Don was a resident of April Sound in Montgomery for 18 years and loved living here and called Texas home. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul, an organization dear to his heart, for many years. He was a Knights of Columbus member and a Grand Knight and founder of the council in Tioga, Louisiana. Don was always a devout man and his faith and church were a big part of his life.

Don was a veteran of WWII and was at battle at Tarawa, one of the bloodiest of the Pacific, helping with retaking that island for our enemies.

He was a golfer, a gardener and a good man. He volunteered to help those in need from the day he retired till he became ill just recently. Everyone whose life he touched loved him.

Don was a wonderful and caring husband to his wife, Elizabeth Charpentier of Montgomery, Texas. He is also survived by five children and 2 step-daughters: Gary Charpentier, Florida; Jeff Charpentier, Washington; Sandra Galvin, Donna Green and Debra Charpentier, Boston, Massachusetts.; his step-daughters are Julane Andries, California and Shirley Ingle, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren also survive him.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM Monday, September 16, 2013 in the Sacred Heart Church, Conroe. Visitation will be prior to the Funeral Mass from 9 AM - 11 AM, also in the Sacred Heart Church.
