Doyle Murphy Obituary
September 28, 1927 - January 27, 2016
Funeral service for Mr. D.K. Murphy will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 29, 2016 at Alpine First Baptist Church in Tioga with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Rev. Charles Hutzler and Rev. Lucas Lacour. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Ball.
D. K. Murphy, age 88 of Tioga, LA passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in Grace Home, Alexandria. D.K. loved the Lord and was devoted to his church, Alpine First Baptist where he served as a Deacon for many years. He was a loving husband and father and was a true example of how a man should live. He and his wife Gloria shared many happy years of hunting and traveling with their family and many friends.
D.K. was an electrical contractor and owner of DK Murphy Electric Inc. in Alexandria for over 35 years. He will be missed.
D.K. was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Gloria Bridges Murphy, son David Allen Murphy, parents, Earnest Allen and Martha Miller Murphy, brothers, Ira Murphy and E.A. Murphy, Jr.
He is survived by his children, Cindy Henderson and husband Danny of Hot Springs, AR, Kenny Murphy and wife Susan of Alexandria, LA, Susan Drost and husband Ernie of Hot Springs, AR, and John David Murphy and wife Janice of Pineville, LA, seven grand children, Trey Manning, Ashley Murphy, Kenneth Murphy, Jr., Jeremy Drost, Justin Drost, Heather Cooksey, and Marissa Murphy. Thirteen great grandchildren, Will, Andrew, and Sophie Manning, Tripp, Finn , and Beaux Murphy, Ashlynn, Liyah, Jeremy, and Anabelle Drost, Ava Drost, and Raegan and Jensen Cooksey. D.K. is also survived by his sister, Marti Murphy Eades of Kerrville, TX, three brothers, Dwane Murphy, Mike Murphy and Steve Murphy, all of Natchitoches, LA and one sister-in-law Billye Flemming and husband of Perry of Pineville, LA.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be his grandsons, Trey Manning, Jeremy Drost, Justin Drost, Kenneth Murphy, Jr. and son in laws, Danny Henderson and Earnie Drost.

I remember D.K. As my cousin Kenny. When passing thru Many, he would stop by and visit us. He always seemed interested in what I was doing, and sure loved his Aunt Ann! As a young teenager, I thought he was so sweet and handsome and looked forward to his visits. Kenny and Gloria were such a beautiful couple. Being very shy, I never said much to them but they always let me know in their quiet way that they loved me. My prayers are with the loved ones today that The Great Comforter will help you as you suffer this great loss. Heaven grows brighter each day!
