Ivy Guillot Obituary
Funeral services for Mr. Ivy Guillot, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward, with Father Kweebuza Silverino officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery #3. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Marksville.
Mr.Guillot, age 84, of Fifth Ward, passed away at Valley View Nursing Home on Sunday, December 7, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clebert and Velma Guillot, son, Jerrel Guillot, Sr. and daughter-in-law Wanda Guillot and brother, Wiley Guillot.
He spent 42 years with the Clark Dunbar company, became general manager in 1973 & Vice President of the Downtown store in 1975. Mr. Guillot was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. His love in life was raising registered Charolais cattle, and he belonged to the Charolais and Cattle Association in addition past president of the Red River and Echo Riding Club in his early years. He was also the original owner of Ivy's Auto and Farm Supply. He was a Eucharistic Minister and belonged to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Fifth Ward.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Leona Guillot of Fifth Ward, two sons, Wendell Guillot and wife Cindy of Marksville and Ivy Guillot, Jr. (Rhonda) of Fifth Ward, two daughters, Danita Guillot of Spring Bayou, and Sheila (Chuck) Guillot of Marksville. Mr. Ivy also had 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson on the way, and 1 sister in-law Pat. Guillot.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home in Marksville from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and will resume at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until shortly before time of services. Rosary time will be 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Pallbearers are Jerrel Guillot, Jr., Jeremy Guillot, Fredrick Dauzat, Madison Guillot, Roark Gaspard and Jake Guillot. Honorary pallbearers are Ben Dupuy and Hagen Temple.

Sheila, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember going to spend the night at your house when we were little. Mr. Ivy was my Uncle's brother and was present many times as I visited. Mr. Ivy had a joyful spirit and ever present smile and laughter at every meeting I had with him. Mr. Ivy was a life long friend of my entire family.
