I've been looking for years to reunite with Johnny he was a great boss and a hell of an Engineer. His laugh was infectious and he trusted me as his 1st Sergeant to get the soldiers to do anything he requested that's what made us successful. Johnny I'm sure your pulling missions for God in heaven and I know your doing it with that big grin and big heart of yours. Thanks in believing in me as your 1st Sergeant. "Engineers lead the way" was our favorite saying and it's true!

What a wonderful ,kind and funny guy. This man did not have a mean bone in his body. I am saddened that I only found out recently that Johnny had passed away. I was his big brother at SLU Theta Xi Fraternity. There is now one more angel to look after someone. condolences to his family. May you rest in peace, brother

Johnny was a well loved friend and brother of the Beta Pi Chapter of Theta Xi Fraternity. He was a leader and someone I looked up to as an undergraduate. He instilled in me to be excellent at whatever I did, and looked over me as a mentor. I am only so sorry I learned of his passing so late. YITB, Beta Pi 209

There is a word reverberating in my heart. The word is 'love'. From occasional texts, just to say you love me to the last communications between us expressing your hope my healing was going well. Right in the middle, you said 'I love you.' This is the legacy you leave. Though your success in the military is honorable, it is your success as a human being that I will remember. It was in your DNA to encourage others. In the midst of your own challenges, I felt it would all be alright and I believed you when you called your stage 4 cancer a 'bump in the road of life'. Always the leader. Always the big brother. Always the encourager. Always Johnny. To have had you in my life was not only a blessing, it was an opportunity to know someone who actually understood what was most important - to love others. Like everything else you ever attempted - you mastered this. I will always hold this fact close to my heart. What a wonderful legacy for an exceptional man. I love you, Johnny.
