John Randall "Randy" Rivet

Pineville - Memorial services for Mr. John Randall "Randy" Rivet will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville.

The family requests that visitation be observed Saturday at Hixson Brothers, Pineville from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Randy Rivet, 52, of Pineville passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 19, 2018, after a long battle with multiple health issues.

Randy was born in Alexandria. He graduated from Pineville High School in 1984. He received his Bachelor Degree in Finance from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, where he was a member of KAPPA ALPHA. Randy spent his career in Houston as a successful salesman for multiple oilfield product companies.

Randy was a genuinely kind, gentle man and father, who loved spending time with his sons and family. He was an avid fan of his beloved LSU Tigers. He was gifted with woodworking and enjoyed running marathons in his younger years. One of his pleasures was playing golf with his Dad, family and friends.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, John Ross Rivet, who passed away November 11, 2017.

He is survived by his sons, Jacob Ross Rivet and Joshua Roy Rivet of Rosenberg, Texas; mother, Ginny Gnatek of Crestview, Florida; sister, DeeDee (Scott) Miller of Ball; brother, Doug (Olivia) Rivet of Alexandria; stepbrother, Brad (Kate) Deville of Haughton. He leaves many other cherished family members including nephews, Cory Miller, Hunter and Carter Rivet, and niece, Samantha Miller as well as cousins, Brad Rivet, Nancy Blaum and Ken Rivet and their families.

Randy and I were best friends in our younger years. We spent a lot of time together playing and competing against each other. I am so sorry to hear he passed away. We spoke recently about getting together and catching up. See you one day in Heaven ole friend. God bless you and your family !
