Lynwood Thomasee Obituary

Lynwood D. Thomasee

A "Memorial Service" celebrating the life of Mr. Lynwood D. Thomasee will be held at noon on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the residence located at 135 Circle Drive in Natchitoches, LA.

A gathering for friends and family will began at noon and continue until 6p.m. on Friday, February 21st at the same address. Arrangements are being handled by Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home.

Lynwood D. Thomasee, 72, was born on September 19, 1941 in Cloutierville, LA. He fought and won his battle on Saturday, February 8th to join the love of his life Joy Lea Howell who preceded him in death. He retired from the City of Natchitoches after many years of service. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, sibling and friend. He will be sincerely missed by all that knew him. Lynwood will be remembered for the magnificent ability to lay it on thick, his teasing and for his fun sense of humor. He retained the ability to supervise and direct any project that anyone was working on whether or not assistance was needed or asked for. He didn't bite his tongue and meant exactly what he said, always with a smile and a wink. He had a green thumb and was obsessed with working in the yard, shelling pecans and bird watching.

Those left to cherish are his four daughters, Beverly Sparks, Julie Kim, Donna and Pam Thomasee all of Natchitoches. Grandchildren: Hollie, Hilari, Hannah, Jeffrey, Keith Michael II "Little Man". Great-grandchildren: London, Abbey and Peyton.

He is survived by his three siblings; Emma Douglas of Tyler, TX, Betty Bolton of Mora and Billy Thomasee of Pineville. He will likewise be missed by David "Red", Cecil, Keith, Corbett & Jimmy. There are far too many relatives and friends to mention that have shed tears and loved him.

The family wishes to thank everyone for all the prayers and support over the years, The Promise Hospital in Shreveport for their loving care of our Daddy and a special thank you to Dr. Huan Le for his compassion and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Exchange Bank & Trust for the future memorial scholarship in Lynwood & Joy Thomasee's name.

All I can hear, "Eat your heart out." What Pa would make me say to Joy when I was in his chair with him. Then vice versa. Really missing them both today.

I am so sorry about your loss. My Father was Luddy Thomasee and had a brother named Leon Thomasee that died in 1941. I believe that Lynwood is his son of my Uncle. Please contact me. I will try and make the memorial. I live in Pineville.

Mr. Lynwood you will be so dearly missed and you were so very loved. When I first meet you it was a scary thing. You came off like a grizzly bear but once I got to know you I figured out just how much of a teddy bear you were. You were always there for all the kids that came in and out and that lived in the neighborhood. You watched out for us and kept us safe even if we thought we did not need it. May you rest in peace now with the Angels especially your Angel "Joy" May God Bless and give comfort to the ones you left behind. Today, Tomorrow and Always, All our love and prayers.
