Shirley Vercher Obituary

Shirley Rogers Vercher

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Scott Chemino officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.

Mrs. Vercher, age 91 of Bunkie, passed away on Saturday, February 01, 2014 at the Bayou Vista Nursing Home.

She is preceded in death by her husband; Victor Vincent Vercher; her parents, William Brian and Irene Hebert Rogers; and a grandson, Victor Brett Odom.

Survivors include her daughters; Vicki Vercher Bordelon and her husband Rusty of Bunkie and Denise Vercher Riche and her husband Pete of Bunkie; her "other daughter", Fran Mixon Callahan of Bunkie; a brother, William Brian Rogers and his wife Millie of New Roads along with their four girls; devoted friends, Linda and Bugar Normand of Bunkie; her grandsons, W. Eric Odom and his wife Amy, V. Todd Riche and wife Christi, and Cory Riche and wife Jackie; and her great-grandsons, Brooks, Britton, Cole, and Jacque Riche.

The family wishes to thank the Baily House, Bayou Vista Nursing Home, and All Saints Hospice for the loving care they gave their mother.

Friends may call from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Monday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
